Investec Wealth & Investment
Investec Wealth and Investment has appointed Ian Burroughs as Senior Investment Director for its Philanthropy team based in its Birmingham office.

The appointment is the latest in a string of new hires as Investec strengthens its team of investment managers and financial planners across its wealth management business.

Burroughs, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, joins from Brewyn Dolphin, which previously served as head of the Midland charity, the company said in a statement. Prior to that, he worked for Cave & Sons Stockbrokers. He has extensive experience with philanthropic and non-profit clients, including responsible investment advice and investment strategy consulting.


Fulcrum Asset Management
Fulcrum Asset Management announced this week that Patrick Forde, Jerin Tertilt and Filippo Cartilia have joined the partnership, bringing the total number of partners to 18.

Forde joined Fulcrum’s trading desk in 2015 and was appointed head trader in 2019. His technology expertise has allowed Fulcrum to be an early adopter in many areas, the company said in a statement. Mr. Tertilt joined Fulcrum’s investment team in 2017 after four years as a fixed income portfolio manager at PIMCO. According to the firm, he has been a key figure in the evolution of Fulcrum’s macro portfolio management discipline and has led much of the technology development in this area. Cartilia joined Fulcrum in 2019. He previously served as chief international economist and partner at a hedge fund, and before that worked in London-based Goldman Sachs International’s economic research group.



Hawksmoor Investment Management
Jim Woodsmith, former chief information officer of Hawksmoor Investment Management, will retire in October after 50 years.

He joined Hawksmoor in 2014 as Chief Investment Officer for the firm’s Private Clients division, developing a wide range of investment solutions. He resigned in August last year to become market commentator and climate change chief. Prior to joining Hawksmoor, Woodsmith served as Gerrard’s head of research and as chief investment strategist at Investec Wealth Management, according to a statement from the firm.

Hawksmoor Chief Executive Sarah Soar said: “Jim will continue to write for the company and will lead our climate change program in the remaining months. will leave you.”

At the same time, the company appointed Simon Reynolds as Research Director. Mr. Reynolds’ career has spanned more than 25 years, most recently at Octopus, where he served as Fund Manager, Head of Multi-Manager Investments, and Head of Manager Research. Previously, he worked at ipac, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, AXA Investment Managers and Mercer Investments.

Based in Exeter with offices in Bath, Harrogate, London, Salisbury, Taunton and Worcester, Hawksmoor is a specialist investment and funds management firm.


Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research
London-based Square Mile has appointed David Holder as Senior Investment Research Analyst in a new role involved in building research for investment firms. Reporting to Research Director John Monaghan, he will contribute to Square Mile’s consulting output while providing additional resources to its 20-person strong research and consulting team in analyzing open-ended funds, the company said. said.

With over 20 years of experience in investment strategy research, Holder previously worked for The Edison Group where he served as an Associate Director providing qualitative and quantitative analysis to various investment firms. Prior to that, he was a Senior Investment Analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, where he was responsible for researching European and UK equity earnings strategies. Previous positions include Senior Fund Selection Specialist at Investec Wealth & Investment and Senior Analyst at Morningstar.
