Watch UFC video tribute to Robbie Lawler ahead of retirement fight

One of the most exciting fighters in UFC history takes his final walk in Las Vegas this weekend.

Former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler is on the verge of retirement, but has one more fight at UFC 290.

In his 25th UFC fight, Lawler (29-16 MMA, 14-10 UFC) will face Nico Price (15-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) in the Feature Prelim at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. And that marks the end of a fantastic professional career that began in 2001.

Ahead of the contest, the promotion released a tribute video honoring Lawler’s career. This video is packed with knockouts and highlights from EliteXC, Strikeforce and the best fights the sport has to offer in the UFC.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’ve been fighting almost my whole life,” Lawler said in the video. “I just love competing and I love what I do. It’s play for me.”

UFC President Dana White’s passionate words are also in the video.

“Robbie Lawler has a different physique than most people,” White said. “He’s a total savage. He always throws everything with malice. If you want to see what a game the fans want to see, Robbie Lawler embodies it all.”
