Browning joined from Evelyn Partners (formerly Tilney and Smith & Williamson) where he was responsible for integrating the post-merger wealth management team.
After managing an expanded team for two years, Browning was considering a career change. In October he joined the Old Mill as head of VAT, former colleague David Gage, and Paula, his head of management at Old Mill Wealth, suggested he meet Hodge.

Browning began his career as a cashier at Lloyd’s and joined Smith & Williamson in 2019 as a director after holding senior positions with the Coutts & Rathbone Group for the past 25 years.
She is also a CISI Fellow Chartered Wealth Manager and a CII Fellow Chartered Financial Planner.
“I’ve always worked for big companies, so Old Mill was never on my radar,” she said.
“But when I met Paula, I could see her passion for her business, her clients, and her belief in a holistic approach that I’m very passionate about and what Old Mill has achieved. We have been very impressed with the growth, we are still achieving while maintaining our core values.
“I think there is a lot more that we can offer in terms of fostering collaboration across the business to enhance Old Mill’s overall offering. I feel I am in a position to take it at a level that supports the growth and development of planners.
In his final role as Managing Partner of Evelyn Partners, Browning was responsible for integrating and managing the Bristol Discretionary Fund Managers and financial planning teams from both Tilney and Smith & Williamson into one business.
