MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (LOOTPRESS) – A familiar face at many high-profile campus events retired Friday from West Virginia University after more than 20 years of service.
Lisa Martin, Senior Special Events Coordinator in the WVU President’s Office, began her tenure at WVU at what is now John Chambers College of Business and Economics, according to a press release.
In 2007, she found a permanent position in the College Events Office, where she was responsible for hosting graduations, initiation ceremonies for the Knights of the Vandalia, special events at Brainy House, and other events throughout the campus. I was.
“Like they say, I started at the bottom and worked my way up,” Martin said. “I am so happy to be part of the university family. I miss people the most.”
“Over the years, I have been very fortunate to have met and worked with so many wonderful people. I hope it shows,” she added.
Martin has been an active member of the Staff Council since 2009, serving as Chair and most recently serving as the Confidential Staff Representative on the WVU Board of Directors.
Martin considers himself a ‘behind the scenes’ man and will finish Friday ‘towards the sunset’ without any publicity.
