Supersub Jamie Vardy came off the bench to save Leicester City as they fell behind in a 1-1 draw with Leeds in a big game in the Premier League relegation battle.
The former England international striker scored a goal deep in the second half to score a well-deserved point for Dean Smith’s side after Luis Sinisterra gave the hosts the lead ahead.
A tight first half saw the visitors dominate possession, but both sides struggled to find the last ball and failed to create clear chances.

Nonetheless, the Foxes thought they had taken the lead when Juri Tielemans found the top corner in spectacular form from 20 yards out, but VAR disallowed an offside goal early in the move.
Shortly afterwards, they found themselves chasing the game as Sinisterra broke the deadlock with a header to Jack Harrison’s excellent cross.
Few chances remained after the break and a determined Leeds defended and prevented their opponents from pushing too far forward. However, as the match progressed, the visitors threw the men forward and Kelechi Iheanacho had his Illan Meslier interrupt him twice.
However, they were starting to put the pressure on, and with ten minutes remaining, Vardy made a well-deserved target for their performance when they converted into the bottom corner.
The striker was ruled out for another offside soon afterwards as Leicester were one point away from the relegation zone.
TALKING POINT – Like fine wine
Jamie Vardy’s last goal in the Premier League has to be back in October. The striker has made his 19th appearance in the top league since that goal with Wolves.
Meanwhile, many disapprove of the former England international, suggesting his days at top level may be over.
However, he showed that he was as sharp as ever when he shot brilliantly into the bottom corner to equalize in the closing stages.
Player of the Match
Liam Cooper (Leeds). Leeds’ defense has gotten a lot of attention lately after conceding 13 goals in its last two games, but tonight it was all but perfect.
Skipper was at the center of it all, marshalling the back four admirably and making sure he executed his game plan to completely overwhelm Leicester’s attack.
He was not at fault when Fox tied the game. It can be considered unlucky not to lead his team to his three key points.
