The search for a permanent treasurer will likely begin in early 2024, with the goal of selecting one by the end of the school year, he said.

Furnace was approved by the Kettering Board in December 2021, marking the district’s first hired treasurer in seven years.

According to the school district, Taylor came to Kettering in 2020 after working briefly as a temporary assistant at a school in Fairborn after five years working primarily as an assistant treasurer in Greene County School District.

Records show that his current salary is $103,000, which will increase to $161,000 starting June 1.

Mr. Taylor has more than 20 years of public school finance experience in Ohio, most of which has been in Greene, Montgomery and Warren counties.

Also, from July 1998 to February 2002, she worked as a financial assistant at a school in Lebanon City. Taylor also worked at the Shared Resource Center from March 2014 until March 2015. He served as treasurer for the Dayton Area STEM School.

Between these two jobs, he was the treasurer of the Painesville School District near Cleveland.

Taylor holds a BA in Finance from Kent State University.
