The City of Fort Mitchell announced that Fire Chief Adam Fuller will retire in August.

Fuller began his public service in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter for the Southern Campbell County Fire District. He served as a dispatcher from his 1998 to his 2017 and has also pursued his firefighting career from 1999 until his retirement as a firefighter at Fort Mitchell.

Fuller served as president of the Northern Kentucky Firefighters Association from 2018 to 2023, chair of the Kentucky Firefighters Association Public Education Commission and Recruitment/Retention Commission, and Kentucky Liaison for the National Fire Protection Association Public Education Network. was a firefighter and fire advocate. , and co-chair of the Northern Kentucky School of Emergency Services.

“Working in the city of Fort Mitchell for 19 years and serving as fire chief for the last five years has been an incredible experience. We had the opportunity to develop a program that will bring lasting benefits to our community well into the future,” Fuller said.

Dave Slusser, the current Deputy Fire Chief, will be appointed Interim Fire Chief upon Fuller’s retirement on July 31.

“Chief Fuller has been a huge asset to the City of Fort Mitchell and the Northern Kentucky area. His extensive experience in the fire profession was invaluable as he transitioned from the fire department to the career fire department it is today. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”
