Enterprise, Alabama (WDHN) — The public was invited to a special retirement ceremony at Enterprise.

About 50 flags will be retired as part of the Flag Retirement Ceremony at John Wiley Bullock VFW Post 6683 on Saturday April 22nd.

“The national flag is the symbol of our country and deserves proper disposal when it is worn out and tattered,” said VFW Post 6683 Commander Robert Schmidbauer. “We take pride in properly disposing of our great national symbols. This is what I believe we should all do.”

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be attended by Flag City residents previously dropped off at the Enterprise Fire Station.

If you haven’t seen it, if you have young children who are in the JROTC, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, or if you are a patriotic family, please join us. You can visit them or let them participate in the retirement ceremony itself.
