Dr. Bandlow’s retirement announcement was unexpected.
After her mother passed away last September, she realized that it wasn’t long before she had to take care of her aging father. Her one year advance notice allows the Brewster School Board sufficient time to select her successor and gives her the opportunity to assist in her transition to her new leadership. increase.

Dr. Bandlow has been Brewster’s Superintendent of Education since 2019. Taking office just months before the pandemic, she has led the school through uncharted territory moving from in-person learning to online learning and her hybrid model that combines in-person and online learning. , and back again. She believes she plays a role in building trust among all members of the school community, and she takes that responsibility to heart. Her accomplishments include formulating Vision 2026, a comprehensive strategic plan with broad community buy-in, expanding her communications initiative, and facilitating professional development partnerships with her college in Manhattanville.
Most recently, Dr. Bandlow led the district in connection with a capital improvement plan recently approved by the community.
Asked about her feelings about ending her 38-year career as an educator, she said, “When I leave Brewster, I know it’s in a good place. Stay a year to finish.If our students are successful, our staff will exceed expectations and our community will continue to provide support.Our future is very bright !”
