4 manual cars that are fun to drive and will be released in 2023

It’s no secret that many car enthusiasts prefer to paddle through the gears of a manual transmission rather than drive an automatic car. Modern automatic transmissions typically deliver shift speeds most humans can’t dream of, but the mechanical engagement with the gearbox and the feeling of being in control of the gear lever is still great. So, here are 4 manual cars that you can actually buy new in 2023 and that are fun to drive. To keep things interesting, we try to keep the price point on the low end.

Kia Forte GT, non-suspicious driver

Sure, we know it’s hard to get out in a Kia. But listen. Kia isn’t the company he was in the late 90’s or early 2000’s. Plus, this isn’t an old-fashioned Kia Spectra.

Carfax says the 2023 Kia Forte GT packs quite a punch. Under the hood he has his 201 hp 4-cylinder engine, and with a manual available, this spicy little Korean killer is a blast to drive. It’s not the fastest car, of course, but its power and handling make it a fun commuter that turns every road into a racetrack.

Combine all of this with a starting price of under $25,000 and you have the best combo.

The 2023 Mustang offers a wide range of gear-paddle excitement, from an Ecoboost to a roaring V8

All of a sudden, I’m happy to admit that the $38,345 price tag for the GT’s base model isn’t the cheapest. However, considering the 450 horsepower output combined with the manual transmission, the price is quite reasonable for the performance.

That said, according to the Kelly Blue Book, EcoBoost has a base price of $27,770. For $10,000 less, it’s easy to forget the ridicule we get from “car enthusiasts” for choosing not to have a V8 powerplant. You get up to 29 mpg in fuel economy while maintaining the fun driving characteristics.

Like the Mustang, the Camaro offers buyers a touch of Americana in varying degrees of trim levels from mild to wild.

Starting at the lowest price, you can get a 2023 Camaro with a 2.0-liter turbocharger and a manual transmission for just $27,795. Plus, the cheapest manual V8 product is just over $10,000 more.

With classic styling and rowing your own gear, you’ll have a great time on any road or track.

The 2023 Mini Cooper S is a compact carnival that guarantees a fun driving experience

Compared to its competitors, the Mini Cooper lineup isn’t the most affordable option. That being said, there are some products from this iconic British-turned-German brand for under $30,000.

Available with a manual transmission and a 189 hp turbo engine, the fun spirit of the original Mini is still alive and well in the 2023 lineup.

Overall, these cars may not be the center of horsepower or performance. However, whether it’s just cruising your favorite windy road or running to the grocery store, it’s a lot of fun to drive.
